Things I'm excited about!

No new card today but can't help but post this anyway; a picture I found on one of my favorite Lawn Fawn artists, Yainea's blog taken by the super sweet and talented Laurel Beard -a picture I'm so childishly excited about. (Thanks so much Laurel for letting me use it here!) I wish I could have gone to CHA in person, but at least I can say that I had a card there - and you can see it HERE;

If you like Lawn Fawn stamps as much as I do - don't forget the 6th of April - that's the date for the next Lawnscaping blog hop - wonderful spring cards inspiration and fabulous prizes can be promised!!!!

While I'm at it I might as well show you two projects I had published in CARDS magazine's December issue that I still haven't blogged about;

and one more thing I'm excited about:

Last week I got the Liebster blog award from two wonderful artists; JJ Bolton and Elena Roussakis. - (edited 29th - and from sweet Kristen of Creative Syzgy) Made my days to read such sweet words about my blog and cards! Thank you so much!!!

I just have to tell you that when I received it from JJ I started making a list of five people to forward it to, one for each of my 5 favorite stamp companies and I had Elena for Lawn Fawn and Kara for PTI, but then the next day I saw that Kara had just received it from someone else and the day after I got this from Elena, so I decided to skip that line and passing the award on by putting together a list of dream qualities I wish I had.

It would be wonderful if I could:

Scrapbook like;
Shien Shien, Tamara and Angela Fehr
Make as cool and creative cards as: Jenny, Emily, Melania and Judith

Color like: Cathy Fong and Yainea

and make as elegant, clean and professional cards as: Kara.

(I can assure you my wish list could go on and on, but if I had all these amazing qualities I think I'd be the best papercrafter around - don't you think!!!??? )

I am so grateful for all the wonderful inspiration I get from these amazingly talented artists and from everyone else that share their talent on blogs – It's such a nice, inspiring and encouraging community to be part of – thank you all!

Inspired by the Cure for winter blues challenge at Moxie Fab World (- is there a better way than to cuddle up under a -blue ! - blanket/quilt with a good book and some hot chocolate???), the "use 3 different papers challenge at Simon Says Stamp, the cream and blue challenge at Crafty Emmas , the bingo challenge at Penny Black all sorts; white, blue turqoise and the Quilt inspired challenge at Create I made this card:

The patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye and stamps from Waltzing Mouse Stamps. Gem brad from American Crafts and pearls from Queen and co.

It's also two layer card for Crazy for challenges it's a Blue quilt card for Crafty Catz B-challenge

My card today was created for the CAS challenge at Unity Opportunity, the pun challenge at CAS-ual Friday and the clear card challenge at Young Crafters Unite.

I used stamps from the Ippity set; Loads of Love and I embossed the sentiment which worked better than I thought on my transparent card.
The only trouble I had was photographing it... Well, this will have to do:

Finally it is Saturday again! and Saturday means a new sketch and a new challenge at the Waltzing Mouse Stamps Sketch challenge. Fortunately it's not Easter yet, but with Valentine's day over and with this great sketch from Jen Cuthbertson I just couldn't help make a little Easter gift.

This is my take on this week's sketch at Card Patterns and the "card for a Mother at Paperplay Challenges . It has 3 different patterned papers for Simon Says Stamp; October Afternoon and two different collections from My Mind's Eye and lots of layers for Moving along with the times. Also I made sure it has a butterfly for the "winged things " at Cute Card Thursday, spots and dots for Crafty Emma's and Kraft for Papertake weekly.

The stamps I've used are from Waltzing Mouse, my diecuts are made with Martha Stewart's butterfly punch and my Silhouhette sd and papers from My Mind's Eye and October Afternoon.

Lily Pad Card's new challenge: Patterned Papers

Here's my first post as a member of Lily Pad Cards design team. Today they are presenting a new challenge; Patterned Papers and this is the sample I made for it. It's my son's birthday next Friday - my little guy is turning 3 - scary how time flies. Anyway, I thought it would be nice with some cute invitations for his party on Sunday:

For my card I used papers from October Afternoon (yellow +image + banner) and Cosmo Cricket (green). I diecut a lace with a Martha Stewart punch for the fold of the card and the sentiment stamp is from Gel-a-tins.

My card today is for two ippity challenges; It has something new (I got the house stamps last week), something blue (houses), something borrowed (the embossing folder I used is borrowed from my friend Camilla and something old; the hempsting has been in our house for forever) for Unity Opportunity and for the Hearts challenge at Get hippity with Ippity. It has paper piecing for Paper Sundaes.

Today I have the most exciting news to share with you: I'm going to be on the Lily Pad Cards design team!!! Yippie!!!

Those of you who follow me know how much I've LOVED playing their super inspiring challenges so I think you realize how proud and honoured I was when Deborah asked if I wanted to join their DREAM TEAM of super talented designers; Vicky Papaioannou, Deborah Nolan, Kathy Racoosin, Lin Brandyberry, Nancy Krueger, Latrice Murphy, Barb Engler and Virginia Lu. I started by rolling scraps of paper that I love but didn't really know what to make with them, until I saw two "leftover" baskets from another project and put them together and put my little rolls inside. Decided to make them into love notes for some Valentines/love challenges that I wanted to play in too;

Hi!
My card today is for The Woodblock stamp challenge at the CLASS Room, and Hero Arts "Hugs and Kisses" and has 3 flowers, 2 butterflies and one bird for the fun challenge at Create.
I used my brand new Classic tea flower stamp H5577 - I'm in love with it - so perfect for coloring and (the butterflies are from Antique Engravings) and the olive branch paper is from Basic Grey which means I can enter their and Simon Says Stamp's "new" challenges too!!! + For the diecut challenge at Moxie Fab World I used 6 different dies (3 for the handmade flowers).

Here's a card I made for my inspiration post at Cili in Paper's blog. - I had a lot of fun making it so I hope Cicci's customers will like it too. Think you can tell I was inspired by this month's HA challenge; Hugs and Kisses. The Smiling girl is rushing to fill the envelope with Hugs and Kisses and inside the card is a note saying that these X:s and O:s can be exchanged for real hugs and kisses.

My bg is stamped with HA clingstamp CG 327 Notebook Paper for Class Room Challenges. The smiling girl D5595 is brand new from Hero Arts 2012 catalogue for Simon says stamp challenge and Cute Card Thursday. I will also enter this for the anything goes challenges at the Kraft Journal , Crafty Emmas and the Pink Elephant.

When I saw Cath's fun Map challenge at Moxie Fab world I immediately came to think of a present I got from my Host Mum when I was an Au Pair in Lexington, MA 20 years ago - a map jacket (-: My host mum definately had style- just not my style and I'm sad to say, but I think today was only the second time I wore it. But knowing Cath is a trend watcher, maybe it will be a third before the year is over?????
Inspired by Cath's challenge, but also by my own jacket and the story behind it I created this card;

I used paper piecing for All Sorts and my brand new 2012 Hero Arts Stamps; Past Times, and will enter this card for the "New" challenges at Simon Says Stamp and Cute Card Thursday. And also the "Anything goes at the Kraft Journal , Crafty Emmas and the Pink Elephant. The shirt stamp is from Ippity.

Before I go I just have to tell you how excited I am today - just learnt that this card (below) was picked (among super fabulous entries) to go to CHA to be featured in Lawn Fawn's booth and in their catalogue - how awesome is that??? Did I say I'm excited!!!???

Here's another card I've made for Lawn Fawn's CHA challenge. Can't help myself, but these stamps are so cute and so much fun to "work" with + of course I'd really, really LOVE to be a tiny, tiny part of CHA (-; .

Here I wanted to make a card that shows how beautiful and sweet the Lawn Fawn Critters are and at the same time is a card that is quite fast and easy, with not too many details for people who, perhaps are new to stamping, to copy or to just be inspired by. This card is super easy, you just stamp your images and color them. Cut them out and attach the to a distressed bg. Add a scalloped oval to the front of your card and then diecut an oval window through that. Add some smaller images to the top layer for a bit more dimension.

I was inspired by the colors Touch twin markers;

I'm also entering this for the "Anything goes" at the Pink Elephant, the "Used one stampset" challenge at Ginger Snap and "My own work" at Try it on a Tuesday.

Thank You Card Set

Here's my last minute entry for the card sets challenge at Hero Arts. I went for Thank You cards because that's something I think very many of us need now after the holidays. (Unfortunately there's a storm here today so light is terrible - I hope you'll come back and visit my blog tomorrow when I promise better pictures.)

Cardsets shouldn't take too much time to complete and the stamp and emboss combos just makes beautiful cardmaking so EASY. I used the beautiful Floral Wreath # 657768 for my cards and I simply stamped my cardstock, colored the flowers,cut it out and sent it through my Cuttlebug in the embossing folder and then attached it to my cardbase.
And voilá - you have wonderful cards! + This floral wreath "background" makes it perfect for adding any cute image to the middle - this time I chose to paperpiece the super cute fox E5465 and gave him a little flower to hold in his mouth, and attached him to the card with foam pads.

I will also enter these cards for the "Anything Goes" challenges at Simon says stamp challenge, Stampi'n for the week-end and the craft room.

It's time for another PTI bloghop - something I always look forward to - so much fabulous inspirtaion!
For this month Nicole challenged us to use Christmas leftovers. I had to make my card the 23rd since we are having visitors all week-end so for my card I used scraps/leftovers I found at work; a cardstock folder I was about to throw away, the box we got the new knitting needles in and the twine that was tied around the Christmas present we got from work.
I used the Tiny Treats Christmas set and made a multifolded gift card or money holder.

I've used die cuts for Young Crafters Unites challenge and I used twine, a punch and multifold for Simon Says Stamp's bingo challenge and I'm also entering this card for the Snowmen challenge at Craft your days away.

This is my card for Lawnscaping's fun Texture Challenge. For texture I used linen fabric for the background that I zigzag stitched on my cardbase, and I embroidered French knots for snowflakes. I used lace for snow, a toothpick for the sign and paper piecing for the snowmen.

I tried something new on this card - embroidery stitches for the Kraft Journal's challenge that starts tomorrow, I have fabric for Frosted Designs and I have Snowmen for Craft your days away. I'm also entering it for the "Anything Goes" at Wee memories.

I'm Totally Happy when I get to spend time in my craft "corner" = desk + bookshelf (no studio or craftroom for me - but with only a 3-room-apartment for my family of three I'm glad I get that (-: ). But unfortunately there isn't much sparetime at the moment with the end-of-term stress at work and Christmas preparations at home - so I decided to try to make a card that would fit some of my favorite challenges;

My take on this week's SPARKS Challenge at Paper Smooches is a Post Card type of card; "Greetings from all of us!" Could be sent from anywhere sunny and beautiful = not from here )-:

It is rainy, cold and windy - and has been for the past two weeks. I am so tired of it I've been flipping through travel directories every night before I go to sleep. Right now I'd almost do anything to get to go to the Maldives (or some other paradise islands - I'm not extremely picky at the moment...) to swim and get to see the sun!

Barb Murphy has a really cool challenge going on at her blog Kinsale Creations (I can promise you awesome inspiration on her blog!) - it's a photo inspiration challenge and this is my take on it. (see photo below) I will also enter this card for the non traditional Christmas card challenge at Create and the Bah Humbug Challenge at Just Add Ink; "This week's challenge is to make a Christmas project but with NO Christmas paper, NO Christmas images (Christmas sentiment allowed)"

I used both my spellbinder dies and my silhouette die cutting machine so I could enter this card for the "use dies" challenge at Young Crafters Unite. and at Bunny Zoe's the challenge is "Anything Christmas with pearls"!

This is one of my favorite LF cards and thought I might as well enter it for Lawn Fawn's CHA challenge.

It was originally made for this Lawnscaping challenge:

My card today is made for the Photo Inspiration Challenge at Lawnscaping ( I tried to pick up the colors, the leaves and the apples in my design) and the "Woodland Animals" Challenge at Wee Memories and the Cute Critters Challenge at Our Craft Lounge.

For my card I used stamps from the super cute Critters in the Forest set from Lawn Fawn - if you like Lawn Fawn stamps you shouldn't miss the blog hop Lawnscaping (Laurel Beard) is organizing the 9th of December - I can promise there will be lots of FABULOUS inspiration and awesome prizes to win! Yeay, it is Saturday and time for new fabulous inspiration from the Waltzing Mouse Sketch challenge. Here's this week's great sketch and my take on it. I think placecards have to be fast and easy to make so I simply used my silhouette to cut out the cardbase and then diecut mittens with my old but great QK dies and then stamped and distressed them. The stamp I used for my mitten is from my favorite Christmas set all time; Nordic Winter - it is absolutely wonderful. There are so many cool and fun challenges going on over at Moxie Fab World I feel a bit stressed (-: Working full time again is not a good combination with loving this cardmaking hobby as much as I do. At least, with this card I can combine three challenges in one (-: ; The National Dog Day and the Random Fun; Alcoholic Beverages and CAS-ual Fridays .

Here's a card I made for my post on Cili in Papers using the new wonderful leaf dies she has from Cherry Lynn, but first of all I want to say THANK YOU to Perrin for being such a thoughtful, wonderful friend. I'm so lucky I got to know her when she moved here with her family a few years ago. Unfortunately they moved back last spring and I miss her so much. Not only is she the sweetest friend she is also the most generous person I know - guess what I got in the mail last week, along with things for Ted and Mikael too - a set of the most adorable Thanks Giving wooden stamps from Imaginice. (Think she knows me quite well (-: )
So this card is for you Perrin!

My card today is for the Hobbies Challenge at Moxie Fab world; sewing. When I made it I had just read the sad, beautiful and VERY moving post about Katie Renz and afterwards I think it influenced my design quite a lot. I didn't know Katie and didn't know her tragic story untill I read Cath's post about her on Moxie Fab a week ago, but have, like everyone else who has read it must have, thought so much about her and especially her children since.

After having gone through my blog back and forth I finally settled on this as my favorite kraft card (those of you who follow my blog know that I use krsft quite often... so there were a lot of projects to choose between) of the year. Dear Waltzing Mouse Waltzers, I had made another card for this bloghop using the wonderful Santa from the awesome set Santa's coming to Town, but now during winter when I work full time and I'm not home before it is pitchblack outside I just realized (after having tried a 100 photos in my light tent) I'm not going to get a good enough picture of it till Saturday )-: so I'll have to come back then and in the meanwhile I'll show this Christmas Invitation Card I've made earlier from the wonderful Teeny Trees set.

Lawn Fawn Christmas Card

I don't have any of Lawn Fawn's new beautiful Christmas sets - but ooooh how I wish I did - they are super sweet. I love the set I have though- the Critters in the Forest so I made a Christmas Card using them instead so I could enter the challenge over at Two Peas in a Bucket for a chance to win some wonderful LF stamps.
And since Vicky at Clips n Cuts is the one who introduced me to these fabulous stamps and is always such a GREAT inspiration I'm entering her "Inspired by Vicky Christmas Card challenge".
