Sunday Watercolors; Negative Painting - Pomegranate

When I saw a picture on the internet of a pomegranate I thought it would be the perfect subject for playing with the negative painting technique!

Lemon Curd for your Valentine!

HAPPY VALENTINES - a day late...
Today I have a little Valentine's Gift that is super fast and easy to make:
A jar of homemade Lemoncurd.

With MFT's new stitched frames you can make the cutest labels for your homemade goodies in notime!
Found this recipe at A taste of home that was very close to the one I make - too lazy to convert my own recipe from dl to cups etc (-: . I wisk mine in a bowl over boiling water instead of directly in a sucepan and I wait with adding the butter till the very end)

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • 1/4 cup butter, cubed
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon peel

Directions

  1. In a small heavy saucepan over medium heat, whisk eggs, sugar and lemon juice until blended. Add butter and lemon peel; cook, whisking constantly, until mixture is thickened and coats the back of a metal spoon. Transfer to a small bowl; cool 10 minutes. Refrigerate, covered, until cold. Yield:1-2/3 cups.
Have a great day, hugs, Karin

My Favorite Things; Creative Construction with Blueprints

My Favorite Things; Creative Construction with Blueprints

Hi and welcome to a new Creative Construction with Blueprints!

Here are a few words from MFT about this awesome challenge.
We love Blueprints because they take the guesswork out of crafting beautiful cards in quick fashion when we’re short on time or inspiration. We also love them for their versatility and ability to be mixed and matched when we have the time and inspiration to create something truly unique. Our Creative Construction Challenge focuses on these attributes each month, challenging the team to both assemble a card based on one of the provided Blueprints sketches as well as design an original card combining elements from the featured Blueprints.

Here are my samples;

The blueprints dies make it so easy to create cards with a new design. Just play around with the elements and you have lots of new fun combinations.

If you haven't discovered them already there are lots of "older" bluprints that are perfect sketch inspiration. You can find them all HERE!

Hope I've inspired you to try them too!

Wishing you a great day, hugs, Karin

My Favorite Things New Product Launch

 Hello Everyone!
It's time for the New Release Launch at MFT !   Today the MFT Design Team is showing you all the new products available - Yippie!  You can view them all HERE. I am so excited with all the amazing new products.

I think I've said it before (-: but these stitched frames are absolutely AMAZING!!! I found this failed watercolor in my wastepaperbasket, but picked it up and with the stitched frame die-cut as a viewfinder realized part of it wasn't so bad after all. With these frames you can turn anything - almost - into a framed beauty (-:

Here's another way to use it: For this shaker card I used the Bunny stamps and the confetti is from the new blueprint dies. So fast and easy to make your own customized confetti/sequins. And the stitched frame made it so easy to create this cute B-day card.

Cards for teenage boys are difficult to make (I think) but with the new Headphones set it is super easy. I just love the dimension these dies give the headphones when they are put together.

Last, but not least, another cute Pure innocence card. This time I used the new diagonal stitched frames.

My cards today feature the Brand New:

Have a great day,

Hugs, Karin

My Favorite Things Release Countdown Day 1

HI!
Welcome to the final day of Release Countdown with My Favorite Things.

All new products will be available for purchase tonight at 10pm EST.

Today I've played with a super fun donut die set with awesome stamps that coordinate. As you will soon see, this was just the first of many cards created with these fun new goodies!

I also used them in another way - that coordinates so well with all the music sets we've showcased earlier in this release countdown- The donut dies make a perfect oldfashioned reccord. The center dot was taken from the large die in the new blueprin dieset.

Think you will have as much fun with these sets as I have had!

Complete product details, videos and links to all designers playing along with today's featured products can be found at the MFT Blog.

I'll be back tonight at 10pm EST for the New Product Launch with
My Favorite Things! Please come back then because I've saved some nice cards for that post (-;

Have a wonderful Day, hugs, Karin
