Going bold with my watercolors: Waterlily

Hi!

The World Watercolor Month is over but I am so happy because it made me start painting more regularly again and knowing that the facebook group will continue is a dream come true!

Today I went out of my comfort zone and used some bright new colors I've been wanting to try; Quin Magenta and Green Gold. This is not really me, but I had fun!

Here's the pic I used as reference. You are more than welcome to use it if you want to.

What isn't over yet though is the super fun 30-day coloring challenge that super talented Kathy Racoosing is hosting again this year. I'm not sure if there's a limit to how many entries you can share there - this might be my 5th... Anyway this is the most bold and colorful I've ever gone with my watercolors and the way I painted this is more coloring than painting...

I've been looking in when I can, Karin, at all your watercoloring. With DH being under the weather, it's been tough to comment, but he's sitting content for a bit, so I have a chance to catch up a little. This is beautiful. I think waterlilies are some of the most beautiful flowers, and your's is spectacular. The shadows and depth you achieve is remarkable, and I am in awe of your talent. Gallery worthy for sure. So beautiful. Bev

I DO think this is YOU, Karin!!! Just with a little more color added! You know I will love it if you continue to paint on a regular basis. If Kathy doesn't choose one of your paintings, I will be very disappointed, my sweet friend! xxoo

I love some bright colors, in addition to the subtle ones. This is stunning! It shows another side of your talent. Wowee! We are so lucky to be able to see the results of that talent. Thanks for sharing!
