Sunday Watercolors on a Monday

Last week I practised skies and this week I focused on trees. Once again I devided my sheet into 6 small squares and made some mini studies of different kinds of trees. This is  actually a great tip because it is so easy to get disappointed if you start out and plan to paint a large serious painting and then half way something goes wrong + even if you don't mess up it would still take me a whole week to complete just one painting. This way you can paint very relaxed and try new techniques without having to worry about the results.

I actually liked how some of them turned out. They are much smaller than shown here, so I think they could make some nice greeting cards with a little simple paspartout around them.

Have a great day, hugs, Karin

WOW! Karen-you have a natural talent for watercolours-what beautiful little works of art :)
That is such a good idea to paint on a smaller scale too-they will all make fabulous little notecards.

I LOVE your mini-masterpieces Karin!
Great idea to use one page for 6 studies.
I will try this out with the kiddos.
They seem to enjoy watercolors better then any other medium.

Goodness Karin, these are just simply gorgeous. I love water coloring but I haven't taken out my good brushes in so long. You have inspired me to dig them out and try and capture our winter here.
