Sunday Watercolors: Wild Animals

It's Sunday and I'm here to share some watercolors with you:

Animals are fascinating to paint - You have to look so closely at what  they actually look like you discover/notice  a lot. THe same with color - who would think of using yellow on the rhionses' backs - but if you look at the picture closely you will see that the colors - in that light and in that place- were actually ranging from yellow, redish, grey, some green tints all the way to the expected greys and blacks. I can't really remember but I think I used just red and green to create the greys in both the pictures. I'll share some fun blending techniques/exercises  with you when I get the time!

If you want to see more of my watercolors you can either click the "My Watercolors" button in the top list or in my Watercolors file on Pinterest; http://www.pinterest.com/peppermint42/watercolors/

(OBS - the paintings there are not only by me, though I wish because I've collected som favorites)

Have a great day, hugs, Karin
