Sunday Watercolor: Hibiscus

It is Sunday and I'm here to share a new watercolor.

I've had a lot of questions lately on what colors I use and if I work from photographs. I shared my palette of favorite colors in this post: HERE - And yes, I work from photos but - as you can see - often make changes to them - this was a picture I took on a vacation to southern Italy  a few years ago and that has been in my inspiration folder since then.

I use Winsor Newtons Professional watercolors and Daniel Smith's extra fine watercolors. The paper I use is 140lb Arches rough or fine.

My first digital stamp! FREE !!! + sketch for watercoloring!

Today I created my first digital stamp and I want to share it with you my dear and super sweet followers!!!. I drew it from an old watercolorpainting I did last year and I hope you like it.

I created one ordinary digital stamp that you can use with copics or any other type of coloring media you want, but I also created a second version of it. One that you can use if you want to practise watercolororing or no line coloring. It shows like a pencil sketch and look like this when used on watercolor paper:

You are more than welcome to download and use them as long as you don't upload and share the digis anywhere else but link back to my blog and this post: It seems like the links aren't working for some of you - so please just download them from here - and should you need a larger version, Contact me so I can send it to you through e-mail. Hugs, Karin

Hope you'll have fun with them and I'd LOVE to see what you create with them! If you do use them, please LINK BACK TO THIS POST and if you have the time - let me know and please give me feed-back - If you do like it I might turn more of my drawings/paintings into stamps but would love your view first.

I'm entering this for Copic Marker Sweden's Flower challenge.

Lots of love, Karin

Guest designing for Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights Challenge !

I am so super excited to be guest designing for the Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights Challenge!!!!
I was especially inspired by the three pictures in the upper left hand corner and made two cards:

For my first card I used the some of the amazing stamps from the beautiful set  essentials-by-ellen-- mondo-peony. I stamped it with Antique Linen (Ranger's distress ink) and then colored it using watercolors from Daniel Smith.
The leaves are first stamped with distress ink;  peeled paint and then while the ink was wet I added some watercolor that I let blend with the ink to get a more lively result.

The background is dry embossed using a snowfall embossing fiolder.

For my second card I diecut the pretty poppy seed flower from the wonderful set ; EE Wild garden by Julie Ebersole. I then colored them with copics and then I covered them with glitter and stickles and when that had dried I covered them with glossy accent.
I created a cardbase and panel from white cardstock and used the same embossing folder as for my first card. The flowers are adhered to the card with foam adhesive.

Here are the inspiration photos. Aren't they just wonderful?

I hope you are inspired to play along. All the info you need to play along can be found HERE at the Ellen Hutson CLASSroom blog.
