This card was also made for the "Textured to Perfection" challenge at Moxie Fab World. I used handmade lace for my bg and just want to take the chance to point out that lace that looks like this is NOT crocheted. I see a lot of manufacturers use that name for it, but this type of lace is made like this (or in a similar way if massproduced):
lace by me using thin tread |
lace making pillow |
- and not with a hook. I hope I don't come across as too nit -picky, being a textile teacher I just think these things are important and took this chance (-: .
Have a wonderful week! Hugs, Karin

I am so jealous that you know how to do this! (not that I have the time to learn) Your lace is beautiful.

This looks like a pretty fall placemat on a lovely lace tablecloth Karin! what a beautiful creation!
Holy cow...I could not imagine how people spent so much time making lace in that manner. No wonder people only had ONE Sunday dress in the old days...it took a year of Sundays just to make the lace for it. LOL. Your card is amazing and I love the lace that you used.
Oh my WORD. I am stunned and speechless, Karin! Did YOU make that lace? It's the most beautiful thing, and looks spectacular as a card background. Somebody really special better be getting this one! I just love how you layered the labels and the teeny little leaf is the perfect finishing touch! WOW!
What a wonderful card Karin! Those little leaves framing the sentiment look fab!
I'm in awe that you know what to do with all those little bobbins Karin! The lace is gorgeous and makes a perfect background to your pretty card.
Hugs

Great texture and love the labels with those leaves, you could use those on a who set of goodies...
First of all, your card is beautiful. Second of all....seriously? You made that lace! WOW! I am officially impressed!
Karin - I love bobbin made lace - wish I could make it. I adore your card - so pretty with the lace background and I do like the little leaves with that sentiment!

Stunning! A true beauty here! Thanks for joining Pals Paper Arts this week!
Oh my, you created that lace yourself?! Its amazing!!! I love the main feature of the beautiful leaves and sentiment, its so restful!
Not only did you make a gorgeous card, but that description of how the lace was made is so interesting! I love how you framed the focal point with leaves and how the beautiful lace extends just a bit over the cardbase. Beautiful.
Karin, that lace steals the show - just beautiful!! I loved the photo showing the pegs and how the lace is made. Makes me appreciate it all the more.
very gorgeous card, karin! the lace is lovely, even if it isn't crocheted :) love all the textures you included!

Otroligt vackert!
Gorgeous lace, I tried learning this, started on braid and that's as far as I went, had classes at a local church group and then the teacher moved on at the end of the second term. Still have my pillow and bobbins!
Sandy
